Every one can do crossfit. The workouts have been designed for teenages to the elderly and everyone inbetween. No matter your background and current physical condition CrossFit will challenge you at your current fitness level and provide you with progressions through scaling to achieve greater levels of conditioning and fitness.

HOW DO I KNOW IF CROSSFIT IS RIGHT FOR ME?

If you are committed to getting into great shape, seeing results, willing to leave your ego at the door, ready to make friends and encourage others, you are ready for crossfit. One of the great things about crossfit boxes in general is that an amazing bond develops between people that consistently push there limits together. You will find yourself doing things that you never thought you could do, regularly setting personal bests and have a blast doing it with a group of great people.

I HAVE RECENT OR CHRONIC INJURIES AND I CAN’T PREFORM CERTAIN MOVEMENTS, IS CROSSFIT STILL A GOOD CHOICE?

Yes. Our coaches have been working with injuries and special populations for many years. In the beginning you might have to take it slow and we may have to modify certain movements until we get certain foundations in place i.e. core connection or move from your hips. Every step builds onto another and we will always make sure you have options for success in your fitness.

WON’T LIFTING WEIGHTS MAKE ME BULKY?

Absolutely not. Some females find that they retain fluid when they first start lifting but this will stop in about 6 weeks and you will be smaller and more toned than when you started. Lifting will give you the best body you have ever had. Fit, strong and toned!

WHAT TYPE OF RESULTS CAN I EXPECT TO SEE FROM CROSSFIT IN A YEAR FROM NOW?

The results that you can achieve in CrossFit are mind blowing! Forget what you think you know and focus on what you want. You can run 3km when you couldn’t even walk the stairs, rid yourself of chronic joint pain, get off medications, do a push up, go from no pull ups to 20. You can and will achieve amazing things.

CROSSFIT LOOKS DANGEROUS. IS IT?

Preformed correctly, functional movements are the safest movements your body can make. Our focus is always on excellent form at IronMill always no exception. If we abandoned all notion of good form and just tried to go as heavy, hard and fast as possible without first mastering the basic movements and being able to consistently perform them well, you can beat we’d be headed for disaster.

DO I NEED TO BE FIT TO DO CROSSFIT?

No. Our job as coaches is to meet you where you are at and take you to where you want to be. Whether you are an elite athlete looking for that next step or you haven’t done any exercise in years, you will find yourself challenged and encouraged to continue to make gains in your fitness.

WHAT TYPE OF PEOPLE WORKOUT AT CROSSFIT IRONMILL?

We have all types of people at Iron Mill, Mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, builders, lawyers, doctors, tradies, engineers, raw beginners you name it. You will fit into our fitness family from day one.

HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK SHOULD I DO CROSSFIT?

We recommend that when you first start you start with 3 times a week and monitor how your bodies respond to the workouts. Crossfit places a wide range of demand on the body, that in the beginning might require you to have more rest than what you are used to. You can come more often when your body increases its capacity for work and your recovery increases. Working 3 times a week at 100% is better than working 4 times a week at 80%. If you never push you wont grow. Healthy, balanced nutrition will aid you in working out and recovery.
